"It’s a big day for Twihards. First Maggie Grace signs on to play Irina. Now EW.com has learned that little 9-year old Mackenzie Foy is inches away from signing on to play Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s vampire/human love child that’s a central role in the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

It’s not yet clear how the diminutive actress, who’s appeared in one episode each of television shows FlashForward and ‘Til Death, will portray the character who ages a full 17 years in only seven. Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too."

(Except I'm not sure if she looks like Rob enough-- she looks too much like Kristen, in my opinion. And her eyes aren't brown-- they'll have to be altered with CGI or contact lenses, but she definitely has that "all too intelligent and aware" look that Nessie has. It seems that her gaze pierces right through you, which, in a way, is exactly what she does! Her hair should also be a little bit lighter and more reddish. Edward's bronze hair was lost in New Moon and Eclipse, but if Renesmee's hair isn't bronze, too, I'm going to flip out. Her hair is also a little bit too straight-- Nessie inherited Charlie's curls in the book. But since Charlie's hair isn't curly in the movies, then they might leave it as it is. I'm also wondering how they could cast nine-year-old Mackenzie where, at the end of Breaking Dawn, Renesmee looks about 2-4 years old...)

Nevertheless, this is HUGE news, and I still can't believe I'm seeing the casting of Renesmee already. It seemed as though it was yesterday that I was reading Twilight...

She has Rob's eyes, mouth, chin, jaw, and almost his hair color; but she has Kristen's forehead, nose, and the upper portion of her head is shaped like hers (does that make sense?)...
She also has Kristen's natural eye-color (but that'll have to change), and Renesmee's skin tone (though her cheeks have to be more blushed).
